Our third study in Fruit of the Spirit is Peace. Sunday your PeeWee heard the story of Job. If you haven't read it - I recommend it - although it is a hard read. It is hard because your heart aches for all that Job lost..........money, stuff, his children, his health. And those are all things that all of us enjoy, and truly don't want to lose.
God took them all away from Job. Job lost them all and remained peacefully sure of God's love for him. Now, there were a few chapters where he acted cranky and testy..........but for the most part he rested in God's control of everything. Job had peace with God so he was able to find peace in awful circumstances.
Remember, peace isn't the absence of chaos..........it is order within chaos. We live in a fallen world - this isn't Heaven. Stuff is gonna happen to us. We can find order within that chaos if we have made peace with God. He will give that order and peace.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
